The Nutty Pages

Sad but true

It's wise to remember how easily this wonderful technology can be misused,
sometimes unintentionally, with serious consequences.

Consider the case of the Illinois man who left the snow-filled streets of
Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip and was
planning to meet him there the next day. When he reached his hotel, he
decided to send his wife a quicke-mail. Unable to find the scrap of paper
on which he had written her e-mail address, he did his best to type it in
from memory.

Unfortunately, he missed one letter, and his note was directed instead to
an elderly preacher's wife, whose husband had passed away only the day
before. When the grieving widow checked her e-mail, she took one look at
the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead
faint.

At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the
screen:

Dearest Wife,

Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.

PS. Sure is hot down here.

He's a dead ringer
Baseball heaven

Two buddies Bob and Earl were two of the biggest baseball fans in America.
For their entire adult lives, Bob and Earl discussed baseball history in
the winter and they pored over every box score during the season. They
went to 60 games a year. They even agreed that whoever died first would
try to come back and tell the other if there was baseball in heaven.

One summer night, Bob passed away in his sleep after watching the Yankee
victory earlier in the evening. He died happy. A few nights later, his
buddy Earl awoke to the sound of Bob's voice from beyond. "Bob is that
you?" Earl asked.

"Of course it me," Bob replied.

"This is unbelievable!" Earl exclaimed. "So tell me, is there baseball in
heaven?"

"Well I have some good news and some bad news for you. Which do you want
to hear first?"

"Tell me the good news first."

"Well, the good news is that, yes, there is baseball in heaven, Earl."

"Oh, that is wonderful! So what could possibly be the bad news?"

"You're pitching tomorrow night."

It was'nt me
Costume...

A couple was invited to a swanky masked Halloween Party.

She got a terrible headache and told her husband to go to the party alone.
He being a devoted husband, protested, but she argued and said she was
going to take some aspirin and go to bed, and there was no need of his
good time being spoiled by not going. So he took his costume and away he
went.

The wife, after sleeping soundly for one hour, awakened without pain and as
it was still early, she decided to go the party.

In as much as her husband did not know what her costume was, she thought
she would have some fun by watching her husband to see how he acted when
she was not with him.

She joined the party and soon spotted her husband cavorting around on the
dance floor, dancing with every nice chick he could, and copping a little
feel here and a little kiss there. His wife sidled up to him and being a
rather seductive babe herself, he left his partner high and dry and devoted
his time to the new stuff that had just arrived.

She let him go as far as he wished; naturally, since he was her husband.

Finally, he whispered a little proposition in her ear and she agreed, so
off they went to one of the cars and had a little bang. Just before
unmasking at midnight, she slipped away and went home and put the costume
away and got into bed, wondering what kind of explanation he would make
for his behavior.

She was sitting up reading when he came in and asked what kind of a time he
had. He said, "Oh, the same old thing. You know I never have a good time
when you're not there."

Then she asked, "Did you dance much?"

He replied, I'll tell you, I never even danced one dance. When I got there,
I met Pete, Bill Brown and some other guys, so we went into the den and
played poker all evening. But you're not going to believe what happened to
the guy I loaned my costume to......."
